Welcome

June 2022
Dear Families,

Welcome to first grade! My name is Stacey McQueeney and I graduated from Plymouth State University in May of 2004. I have my bachelors’ degree in Early Childhood Education and I am qualified to teach children ages infant through third grade.  I taught Readiness here at Jacques for five years, kindergarten for six, and this is my eighth year teaching first grade.  I am very excited to begin a new school year!
We will spend the month of September getting to know one another and building our classroom community. We will develop friendships, discuss logical consequences, and learn the classroom routines TOGETHER. I want to make sure every child feels like they are cared for and respected. It's important to me that your child feels like our classroom is a safe place to take risks and to learn from their mistakes as well as their successes.
I put a monthly calendar in your child's folder for you to refer to for important dates which I think you will find very helpful. I also use a free app called Class Dojo. This is where you will get weekly text reminders and see class photos.  I feel it’s important for us to have open communication throughout the school year. Please call or email me any time you have a question or concern and I will respond as soon as possible (see contact information above).  I truly believe that you are your child’s first, best, and most important teacher. Let your son or daughter know that you are interested in what is going on at school and that you and I communicate. Your expectations and your support will determine your child’s approach to school.

Let's work together to make this a wonderful school year.

Please view the 'all about me' page along with your child before the start of school.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Stacey McQueeney
