Meet Mrs. Nivens...
I am so happy to be your child's teacher this year! The 2023-2024 school year marks my 25th year as an educator. In my career, I've had the pleasure of teaching Readiness, kindergarten, first grade and second grade. I've been teaching at Jacques since the 2006-2007 school year and am so glad that I have the privilege of working each day with such wonderful adults and children!
I was born in Rochester, New York but I grew up in Brandon, Florida, where most of my family still resides. Since 2003, I've lived in New Hampshire. I am lucky enough to get to spend most of my summer vacations in Florida with my extended family.
I earned my first bachelor's degree in Communications from Wingate College (now University) in Wingate, North Carolina. I earned my second bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. I believe that becoming a teacher was one of the best decisions I have ever made!
I am married to a wonderful man and we have two fabulous children, both boys. We are the proud owners of two very energetic Vizsla dogs, named Chief and Dakota. In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling, baking, shopping, and blog-stalking. My absolute favorite thing to do is to spend time with my family!
I am looking forward to working with you and your child as together we embark on this first grade adventure. Here's to a happy and productive school year! Let the adventure begin!
