Jacques Memorial Parent Update - Week 16

Hello Jacques Families,
I want to take this opportunity to wish all our Jacques Memorial families a happy and healthy new year.  I hope your holiday was relaxing and filled with memories to cherish. The new year brings a fresh start for our students and staff. I look forward to new challenges and learning opportunities.

Academic Choice Form:

Jacques Memorial School will be offering the hybrid and full remote instructional models for families to choose for their students beginning Tuesday, January 19th until the end of the second trimester.  Please take some time to complete the 2nd semester academic choice form.  On this Google Form, parents and guardians can indicate which option best suits their child’s learning needs.

Parents/Guardians can choose from the hybrid option (on-campus and remote) or full remote learning for your child(ren). Please consider when making your choice for the second trimester, if you change your current academic choice, it is likely that your child will be placed in a different class with a different teacher. Also know that if you select the hybrid option for your child, their session assignment, morning or afternoon, will be determined by their bus route. If you are not making any changes and wish to have your child continue with the model please select NO CHANGE on the form. Please complete and submit this form by Thursday, January 14th.

Families can pick up meals for the week at Milford High School every Friday between 3:00 and 6:00 pm. If anyone has further questions please call the Food Service Department at (603) 672-4201 Ext 5. They will be happy to walk you through the process.

Welcome to New Staff!

Please join me in welcoming several new staff to the Jacques team!

Mrs. Bonnie Cox is our new executive secretary and will be supporting Mr O’Connell, Mrs. Demers  and Mrs. Brigagliano with the work that needs to be done in our busy school office. Mrs. Cox has recently served as the receptionist and administrative assistant at Heron Pond School.  Prior to that she served as a program associate at Jacques.

Mrs. Jessica Duquette is our Milford School District Nurse.  She will be supporting students and staff in our health office. Mrs. Duquette lives in Milford and is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Nurse Education.

Mr. Ryan Lunderville is our new evening custodian and will be joining Mr. Wayne Griffis and Mr. Kyle Hagget as a member of our custodial team.  He is a recent graduate of the Milford School District and will be doing his very best to keep our building safe and clean for our students and staff.

We welcome all of our new staff and know that their contributions will be many!

Remote Learning Materials:

All hybrid and remote students were provided with materials to support remote learning.  For students who will have selected to enroll as a hybrid student for the second trimester, it is essential that these materials are returned to support their learning here while at school.  These items could include:

Cookie Sheet

Fundations magnet letters

White Board and Fundations Board

Fundations student notebook

Fundations student journal

EL Journal

Unifix Cubes

Any books that do not belong to students (Geodes)

Tool kit with crayons, glue, scissors, pencils, markers, etc.

Your child’s teacher may have additional items/texts that they will need returned as well.  Please look for this communication from your child’s teacher.

Jacques “Turtle” Mice:

At the last distribution day, each student received a mouse to use/support their remote learning. Ms. Wyka will be using these to support her instruction in technology. Please return this item at the end of the school year.

“We continue to strive to work in partnership with you to make learning a successful and rewarding experience. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or myself regarding concerns and or questions. On behalf of the staff, I would like to wish all of our families a healthy and prosperous New Year.
