Week 32
Good Afternoon Jacques Families,
I hope all is well with you and you have an opportunity to enjoy this beautiful weather. When we have warm days like today we begin to think about the summer. It is hard to believe we are close to the ending of the school year! I also hope everyone is rejuvenated as there is still much to be accomplished before the last day(s) of school arrive. It is important to note that our last day for our Kindergarten students is Tuesday, June 14th and our last day of school for first grade students is Thursday, June 16th.
Math Parent Forum: Tomorrow, Thursday May 12th, there will be a Math Parent Forum from 8:30-9:00 AM at Jacques Memorial School. At this parent event, Mrs. Erin Mello, First Grade teacher and Ms. Leslie Brigagliano Curriculum/Title One Coordinator will review the Kindergarten-Second grade math curriculum and share what parents can do at home to support their child’s learning at home. Please RSVP to Leslie Brigagliano at [email protected] if you would like to attend. Younger siblings are welcome.
JMS Music/Arts Festival: I hope you are looking forward to our first annual Music Arts Festival and Picnic lunch. Please make sure to return the permission slip/lunch order form to your son/daughter’s teacher by this Friday, May 13th, 2022. Parents and guests may purchase a lunch from the school cafeteria for $4.00. Please send a check or money order by this date as well. This event will be held at the Keyes Park Granite Amphitheater. Parents and guests are encouraged to utilize the parking available at Keyes Park or the municipal parking lot adjacent to the Police Station and walk to join us on the amphitheater lawn. There is no parking available at the school.
May MES PTO Meeting: Our school year has been successful due to the wonderful collaborative partnership between students, staff members, and parents. Thank you to all parents on the PTO including members of the executive board. Jenny Garby, Jennifer White, Annika Weis, and Cynthia Peloquin have provided excellent leadership and have dedicated a great deal of time and support to provide beneficial activities, programs and events to our school. Please join us tonight Wednesday, May 11th @ 7:00 pm for the monthly PTO virtual meeting by clicking on the ZOOM link below:
Early Release: On Wednesday May 18th, students will be dismissed at 12:45 after lunch is served.
First Grade Field trip: Our first grade students will be traveling to Beaver Brook to learn more about birds and their natural habitats. More information has been sent home from your child’s classroom teacher. These trips are planned for late May and early June depending on your child’s class. The cost for this trip is $6.50 for each student. Please return the permission slip and money to your child’s classroom teacher.
Thank you for your continued support and for reading this week's update. There are many events. Please contact the school if you have any questions.
Please find attached to this email several district approved flyers from the Wadleigh Library and the Milford Recreation Dept.
Sincerely,
