Week 33
Good Afternoon Jacques Families,
I hope you are all well and enjoying the fine spring weather. Here is an update for this week:
Music and Arts Festival: Students are very much looking forward to our Music and Art Festival scheduled for next week. Thank you to all who have returned the permission slip. If you need to make adjustments to the number of guests attending or lunch order please contact the school by this Friday, May 20th. Please remember that lunch for all guests who are not JMS students will cost $4.00.
We are hoping for clear skies next week, However in the event that we need to postpone the event for inclement weather next week we will reschedule for our rain date Thursday, June 2nd (time TBD) . A message to those families affected by the schedule change will be sent using our automated phone system.
May Birthday School-wide Celebration: We will be celebrating all of our May student birthdays on Friday, May 27th. Please communicate with your son or daughter’s classroom teacher in regards to this event.
Appropriate Footwear: As the weather warms, we are noticing more of our students wearing sandals/flip flops. We do not recommend this footwear at school. Students cannot participate in recess on the playground structure and physical education classes if they are wearing flip-flops or platform shoes. Comfortable shoes or sneakers are required. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in keeping our students safe and preventing injury.
JMS Fun Day: Our annual Fun Day event will be held on Friday, June 10th. We will be looking for parent volunteers to help with some of the activities planned for this day. Please be on the lookout for more information.
Last Days of School: Many families have been contacting us regarding the last days of school. The last day of school for kindergarten students is Tuesday June 14th which is different than Thursday.
MENU Changes: There is a menu change for Tuesday, May 24th. Lunch will be Chicken Nuggets, Rice, Vegetable, and Fruit.
Please find attached to this email a district approved flyer from our friends at the Wadleigh Library.
Sincerely,
Tim O'Connell
Principal
