Ms. Andrea Wyka

My name is Andrea Wyka and I am the Library and Technology teacher here at Jacques Memorial. I am also the building's Technology Coach, as well as a District Technology Committee Member and our Social Media page guru. I have a son, Hunter, a dog and two cats. I enjoy amateur photography, watching my son play soccer, coaching middle school cheerleading, going on Charlie walks and spending time with family.

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Southern New Hampshire University in 2008 and a Master's Degree from Plymouth State University in 2012. I began my teaching career in 2013 at Milford Middle School but have been teaching at Jacques since 2019! I am dual certified in Library Media (K-8) and Digital Learning (K-12).

learning

In addition to book loaning and library skills, students are taught to use a Chromebook throughout the course of year. The students are issued school-supplied headphones that they will used for both grade levels while they are at JMS. If you wish to supply your students with a different pair of headphones, you may do so.

In Kindergarten, students begin to learn letter placements on the Chromebook keyboard, how to use the Chromebook trackpad, how to navigate various websites and how to log in to the computer using their Milford School District password.

In First Grade, students continue to learn letter placements on the Chromebook keyboard, how to use the trackpad mouse, how to navigate Google Tools, how to navigate the NWEA online testing portal and how to navigate additional various websites. The students are able to log in to the computer using their Milford School District password independently by this time. The goal for the students is for them to work on memorizing this password before going to Heron Pond.

Notices may be sent home periodically detailing login information for recommended at-home learning links or that the students are using in class.
