Good Afternoon JMS Families,
Again this year, the Milford Community has important decisions to make about our schools and school budget. Please make every effort to attend the Budget Deliberative Session for the 2023-24 Milford School District budget on Thursday, February 9th, and Town/School District Voting on Tuesday, March 14th. As parents of children in our schools, it is important your voice is heard in these forums as decisions made directly affect your child’s public education. Both of these important meetings will be held at Milford High School.
Kindergarten Registration - Kickoff!
We are excited to announce our 2023-24 Kindergarten Registration Kickoff! This event is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, March 9th, 2023, from 5:30-7:00 pm in the JMS Multi-purpose Room. JMS staff will be on hand to assist with the registration process, give tours of our kindergarten classroom, and answer any questions.
The following documents are required to complete the registration process:
- Proof of Residency (ie. home purchase agreement, rental/lease agreement, utility bill, with parent/guardian name and Milford address.)
- Original Birth Certificate with a raised seal
- Updated immunization/physical and proof of a scheduled physical within one year of enrollment.
If you have a child who is turning 5 years old by Sept. 30, 2023, they are eligible to register for Kindergarten for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. Welcome to the Class of 2036!
PTO Update

Student Social Strengths Screener
Jacques Memorial School is committed to every student's academic growth as well as their social emotional and behavioral growth. It is our shared goal that our students develop the skills required to regulate their emotions, develop positive relationships and make responsible decisions. As part of this process, we are asking all parents to complete a Student Social Strengths Screener.
This is the last opportunity for parents to provide input. We will continue to collect responses until this Friday, February 3rd, 2023.

“Eat the Rainbow” Challenge
Throughout the month of January students and staff are encouraged to eat the rainbow of healthy fruits and vegetables. This is “blue” week and students are offered and encouraged to try blue healthy fruits and vegetables provided by our food service department. Here is the schedule for the remainder of January:
1/30: Blue
Please note, food service has made a change to the menu for this month. They are swapping the meal served on February 6th with the meal served on the 14th of February.
Please find attached to this email a flier promoting our Kindergarten Registration Kickoff and a district-approved flier from our community partners at Milford Recreation Department.
