Week 11

Good Afternoon JMS Families,

Our school community continues to express our gratitude as part of our Choose Love Program. Recent research indicates that when young students practice acts of gratitude it boosts feelings of satisfaction, joy, and enthusiasm and reduces stress, anxiety and depression.  We hope that you can support our efforts in practicing gratitude with your son or daughter.

Living in New Hampshire, school is sometimes canceled or delayed due to inclement weather.  The Superintendent of Schools makes the decision in consultation with the Milford Dept. of Public Works and the Milford Police Department to delay or cancel school. The Superintendent will inform families via the automated communication “BlackBoard”system. Please make sure that we have your most current phone number and contact information.  In addition this information will be communicated to the local television, radio and social media.

If school is delayed, the buses will be later than usual to pick up the students.   During a 2 hour delayed opening, students must not arrive at school prior to 10:15 as there is no supervision available until that time.  If school is dismissed early it will be announced to the media  and  we will inform parents with our BlackBoard Email System.  Please use the Parent Pick-up Patrol system.  Take time to review with your child your family’s plan for early release or late start.  We will be sending home an Unanticipated Early Release form this Friday, November 18th.  Each family will need to complete this form and return to the school no later than Friday, December 2nd.

WORD PLAY Family Fun Event: Jacques Memorial Elementary School (JMS) and Milford Early Education Experiences(MEEE) are happy to announce that we will be hosting a Word Play evening - complete with pizza for dinner  and fun family activities! This event is open to all Pre-K and Kg students and their families. Join us on Thursday,  December 8th, 2022 from 5:30-6:45!

Did you know that one of the best predictors of literacy success is oral language?  Did you know that the way you talk to your child at a young age has a high correlation to their IQ score? We are here to guide you through activities that you can replicate at home in order to set your child up for success.   All activities (including pizza for dinner!) are designed to get our kids talking as much as possible and challenge them to push the limits of what they know and the best part is that they will be FUN!

All Kg families that attend will be entered into a raffle!

Due to the fact that we will be providing dinner, we will need registration for this event. Please RSVP by November 22nd. Please click here to RSVP.
