Week 14
Good Afternoon Jacques Families!
Cooler temperatures…disappearing daylight. December is here! Here is a quick update for this week at JMS!
JMS Kindness Challenge: As you may know, our motto at JMS is to "Be Safe, Be Kind and Be Responsible". Our school community (students and staff) have been issued a Kindness Challenge for the remaining weeks of school in December. Our goal is to engage in as many acts of kindness as we can! Each kind act will be recorded and displayed on a paper chain in the hallway at JMS. We would like to extend participation in the JMS Kindness Challenge to families. If your child demonstrates kindness at home or anywhere else in the community, please share the act of kindness with us by completing the Google Survey below:
Our goal is to reach 400 kind acts by Tuesday, December 20th. We will track our progress daily as we strive to make our goal. If we accomplish our goal we will celebrate with a special kindness event/celebration on Wednesday, December 21st.
Holiday Virtual Concert: Our Music teacher, Mr. Tatara, is planning several virtual concerts. Each first grade class will have an opportunity to sing and perform for family and friends. These will be hosted on Google Meet so that they can be viewed remotely at work or at home. Please make sure you return the parent permission slip by this Friday December 9th.
December PTO Meeting: The MES PTO monthly meeting is scheduled for tonight Wednesday, December 7th at 7:00 pm. Please join us via ZOOM by clicking the link below:

Word Play: Tomorrow, Thursday, December 8th JMS will hold their first ever Word Play Event at JMS. This evening event is all about oral language development. Jacques Memorial Elementary School (JMS) and Milford Early Education Experiences (MEEE) are happy to announce that we will be hosting a Word Play evening - complete with pizza for dinner and fun family activities!
4th grade Reading Buddies: First grade students are looking forward to our visit from their 4th grade “Reading Buddies”. Students will enjoy reading to one another and engage in other planned literacy activities. We are also hoping that our fourth grade students and first grade students can establish a relationship that will assist our first grade students with the transition to Heron Pond.
Early Release: Students will be dismissed early from school on Wednesday, December 14th. Students will be dismissed at 12:45 after lunch is served.
December Birthday Celebration
Our school-wide December birthday celebration is scheduled for Friday, December 16th.
Please find attached to this email a district approved flier from the Grand Monadnock Youth Choir.
As the principal of Jacques Memorial School my door is always open to you. Together as a school community let us enjoy and relish every remaining moment of 2022 with our students because it passes by so quickly as if ‘in the blink of an eye”! I appreciate and thank you for your continued support in all our endeavors to ensure your child’s academic success.
Sincerely,
