January 24, 2024

Greetings JMS Families,

Again this year, the Milford Community has important decisions to make about our schools and school budget.  Please make every effort to attend the Budget Deliberative Session for the 2024-25 Milford School District budget on Thursday, February 8th (7:00-10:00 pm) and Town/School District Voting on Tuesday, March 14th.  As parents of children in our schools, it is important your voice is heard in these forums as decisions directly affect your child’s public education.  Both of these important meetings will be held at Milford High School.

MES PTO Update: - Jenny Garby, MES PTO President:

It's time for the Milford Elementary School Read-A-Thon!

Our school Read-A-Thon begins on Thursday, February 1, 2024, and is sure to be a fun and exciting event.
We understand that your time is valuable. We also know that providing the best education for your child is important. That's why we are encouraging everyone to activate their student's Read-A-Thon account as soon as possible. The instructions are straightforward, making it quick and hassle-free, and it should take less than 5 minutes of your time.

This account will serve as a hub for recording and monitoring your child's progress as a Reader in the event, and for you to share their Read-A-Thon message with friends and family. Use the link below to activate your student's Reader account:

Thank you so much for your participation and support. Together, we can make this Read-A-Thon an amazing experience for our young readers.

Boiler Project Update

I am pleased to report that the boiler replacement project is progressing according to schedule.  Our dedicated team of contractors has been working diligently to ensure the efficient completion of the project. I anticipate the new boiler system to be fully operational by the end of next week. At this time, our heating system will transfer from the remaining old boiler to the newly installed boiler. I want to express my gratitude to our Building and Grounds Department for their collaboration and the ongoing support of the Milford School Board.

Please find attached to this email a district approved flier from our community partners at CAST.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making Jacques Memorial School a thriving and positive learning community!

Sincerely,
Tim O’Connell
Principal
